Controlling Air Pressure in a Positive or Negative Pressure Room
Air handling is of utmost importance. A Negative Pressure Room, also known as an Isolation Room, keeps pathogens IN the room — isolating patients with infectious illnesses. The exhaust from a Negative Pressure Room must travel directly outdoors through filters without any chance of contaminating exhaust from entering other spaces. A Positive Pressure Room keeps pathogens OUT of the room, protecting items inside the room from contamination; the pressure is higher on the inside, so contaminates are kept out.

In CMM rooms or other applications requiring precision calibration, InPlant recommends any of their 3˝ thick Building Systems — the Standard or Heavy-Duty Steel System or All-Purpose Aluminum System for temperature and humidity control.
The 3˝ All-Purpose Aluminum System, combined with Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Faced Wall Panels, provides a moisture-resistant and non-corrosive surface with solid support for a clean room infrastructure. The FRP Faced and Vinyl Faced Wall Panels offer a surface that’s easy to clean. Grow Room facilities may upgrade their Wall Panels to a more reflective material for higher thermal values that handle humidity and wash down.
Two of our 3˝ Building Systems are load-bearing, and all of our 3˝ Wall Partitions are best for rooms requiring more insulation and sound attenuation. The 3˝ Heavy-Duty Steel System with 16 gauge steel supports wide spans up to 40’ without supporting columns in non-load bearing applications. All of InPlant’s NC Construction Wall Panels are easy to install and provide a range of requirements for the interior of climate control rooms.
